Arrived!
As with any wait, this one has come to an end. My book is in print and I have received my first copy! It all happened much faster than I expected after I gave my final okay to the corrected, typeset version. Within days I received a picture of the cover . . .
And then two weeks later, the notice that my author copies were on the way. As has happened with each step of this process, it snuck up on me. I was in the middle of cooking supper to take to our friends, thinking about how to pack the food for our drive across town when Wayne came in with the mail. There it was. A package from Wipf and Stock.
I kept on with my work. Somehow opening such a momentous package with my apron on and wooden spoon in hand didn’t seem right. Instead, I texted my friend that our meal was turning into a bigger event than I had planned, reassuring her that no, there weren’t additional people coming.
Before we ate, I opened the package . . .
and we all admired the crisp new book.
The next afternoon my sister and cousin came to have the planned opening which had to be reenacted along with the Prosecco (acted, not reenacted) that had been waiting in the fridge for the occasion. This time, without a meal hovering in the background, I read them a chapter.
My sister brought Andes mints to celebrate the occasion, but only after they left did I discover my cousin’s “card” lying on the kitchen counter. A cucumber that had turned itself into a C especially for the occasion. What more propitious action could I have wished for?
If you are eager to begin reading right away the book is available at Amazon here, Barnes & Noble here, and Wipf and Stock here.
Stay tuned for a book launching event, yet to be planned.
Congratulations, Kathie! I can’t wait to buy a copy!
Love,
Annetta

Kathie, you have earned this glorious moment of celebration. I’m proud of your perseverance.
I will order a copy. Wade would like to read it on kindle. Would that be possible?
Eunice
Congratulations, Kathie! How exciting!
Thank you, Eunice! My understanding is that it takes a bit longer for the Kindle edition to come out, but it will. I’ll try to let you know, but you can also keep checking. I am somewhat scatterbrained these days.
Congratulations, Kathie!! I can’t wait to read it – my copy is ordered!
Thanks, Lois! I hope you can smile at that little first grader with the hard-cooked egg!
Congratulations, Kathie! This must feel so good! I would love to read your book. 💖
Thanks, Debbie! It does feel like an accomplishment to have this project of many years finally be a book I can hold in my hands. I hope you enjoy it.
Way to go! I look forward to holding it in my hands–in its put together form rather than chapter-by-chapter!
I hope that day arrives very soon! It should, according to my understanding.
